Kate's half marathon ...walk

Katy Gater is raising money for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice
Donations cannot currently be made to this page

Midnight walk · 21 May 2007

Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing specialist, palliative care and support to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Our support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and ultimately end of life care.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Late last year, my mum was diagnosed with a Grade 4 brain tumour. For the last 6 months, Mum's life has changed dramatically. She has very little energy and her ability to communicate and coordinate has been severely affected. Three things however have remained constant: her love for her family, her sense of humour and her appetite ! Since her diagnosis, mum has visited St Lukes Hospice each week for alternative therapy (reiki, massage etc) - a new experience for her and one she has enjoyed immensely. The hospice has also been an invaluable source of support for my dad. To show support for the hospice, my sister and I will be walking a half marathon, starting at midnight on 16 June 2007. Please show support for this charity and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support. Kate x
