I'm doing the 10K run on 12th July in aid of St John's Hospice.  St John's is based in the hospital I work at and looks after people with terminal illnesses, primarily cancer and HIV.  They look after patients from first diagnosis, throughout their illness including end of life care, with support for families continuing as long as it is required.

The facilities at St John's are excellent and the staff are fantastic.  Friends of mine whose relative's have been a patient at St John's have been so grateful of the service and support offered.  Visit the website http://www.stjohnshospice.org.uk/.

Hospices are vital, but 24hr care is expensive so donations are essential to keep them running.
