I am now back from a week's sponsored ride in Wyoming, in memory of Alexander (Smudger) Finer, who died 10 years ago, aged 23. We are raising money for the mental health charity, MIND. Many thanks to those of you who have given SO generously. For those of you who haven't got round to making a donation yet - there is still time! It was an extraordinary and challenging experience.

I hadn't ridden properly for over 30 years, so the 'Comfy Rumps" (padded knickers) were essential. I wasn't confident enough to discard my hard hat and wear a traditional cowboy hat, so was nicknamed Lester Piggott (see photo).
