For most of April and May 2009 (for over 6 weeks) my dad received radio therapy at the Beatson in Glasgow which is more than 50 miles from where he lives. Ayrshire Cancer Support volunteer driver scheme was a godsend. They picked him up and delivered him safely to the Beatson every day without fuss which is no mean feat because making a fuss is what he does best! .  By way of thanks my sister, Morag Sim, my friend, Allison Marshall and I are walking from Sorn to Muirkirk on Sunday 14th June as part of a sponsored walk organised by Ayrshire Cancer Support. It's 13.5 miles so please sponsor us to give us a reason to keep going when we get to the halfway point (or just make a wee donation). Every penny counts so even if you can manage £1 that'll be great.
