Story

Wow after applying for the last 3 years I've finally succeeded in securing a place in the 2009 London Marathon!!!

I'm going to be running in memory of Diana Simpson, a much loved family friend who died of leukaemia in November.  Diana was treated for leukaemia at the Ruth Myles Unit at St Georges Hospital. She was involved in many charities but particularly wanted to raise funds for the unit.

Money raised will go towards funding a COBE Apheresis Machine for the unit. This piece of equipment  is used to collect stem cells for bone marrow transplants and will be used in addition to the NHS  provided one. It will make bone marrow donation much more bearable and ensure that more people are given the chance to live.

Please support me in my huge personal challenge of running 26.2miles on Sunday 26th April 2009 in memory of Diana and her fight against leukeamia.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St George's Hospital Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
