Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Madness has taken over and I'm bound for Tanzania to tackle that small mound known as Kilimanjaro. As this is a challenge in itself I got to thinking what could I do to make it even more amazing?
Yes, do it for charity!
A good friend and colleague has a rare form of terminal cancer known as Carcinoid Cancer (Neuroendocrine tumours - NETs) which requires a range of different treatments - most of them involving big needles! Another 'favourite' is being locked in a lead lined room for up to 7 days after she has been given radionuclide therapy. Having visited her during several treatment cycles it is clear that this lonely little room needs more than a sixty minute makeover!
My aim is to raise as much money as I can for the Carcinoid Cancer Charity based at Kings College Hospital. By doing this I hope to raise awareness, progress research, support others who are suffering from this 'quiet cancer' and possibly to cheer up this dismal room!
Visit www.netpatientfoundation.org to find out more about this type of cancer.
