Katheryn and Carol are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Age Concern York’s Day Club Project.

Day Clubs realize it is essential for older people to keep motivated, vigorous and eat well if they are to remain healthy active members of the community. 

 

Many of the people who rely on these day clubs are house bound and live alone. During these sessions everyone is encouraged to try new things, join in activities and socialize with other people. A hot lunch and well as refreshments and a variety of entertainment and outings are provided.

 

This is a valuable service, which relies heavily on funding and volunteers.
