On the 29 June I will be joining a team of 9+ people who will be combining a Triple Peaks Challenge (walking up the highest peak in Scotland, England and Wales) with a Cycling Challenge.

We will start walking up Ben Nevis, cycle 287 miles to Scaffell Pike, cycle 223 miles to Snowdon and finally trek up Snowdon.  In total this is a climb of 3,400 metres and a cycle of 510 miles.  All in less than six days.

I will be taking part in the trekking up the Peaks but joining the Support Team for the cycling stages.  I make a much better contribution to the team effort serving tea and coffee!

I have previously been to the top of Ben Nevis and Scafell as part of a 24 hour Triple Peaks challenge.  I would like to complete the third peak and maybe see the area around Ben Nevis in the daylight: it was midnight when I reached the top last time!

The team have taken up the challenge in order to raise funds for two charities.  For simplicity, the team has split in half and each half is raising funds for one of the charities.  I am privileged to be raising funds for Sebastian's Action Trust.

As a former teacher I have a desire to see all children given the best opportunity in life.  Sadly for some children their life is made more difficult by serious illness.  Therefore it is really important to provide these children and their families with as many precious moments with practical support as possible.
