Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing this in memory of a very dear friend Phyllis who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Idiopathic Fibrosis and died less than two years later waiting for a lung transplant which is the ONLY possible treatment.  Everyone is frightened of getting cancer but the prognosis for most cancers these days is good because there has been so many advances in treating it.

P.I.F. is a slow, painful and frightening disease and I hope with enough funding SOME form of treatment and possibly even a cure can be found.

Watching my feisty, redheaded Irish friend wither away before my eyes was dreadful, I can only imagine what her family went through.

Please do give generously - to some people a skydive might not seem much but I am scared of flying and scared of heights so this is probably the most frightening thing I could think of doing and in doing so I hope I can raise not only money but also awareness of this dreadful disease.

About the charity

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is a growing community of patients, families, researchers and healthcare professionals striving to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis so that everyone affected by the disease has a better future. Every penny donated is a victory against this devastating disease.
