CRY Patron Kathryn Harries, opera singer (soprano), will once again embark on one of her epic walks for charity, this time for CRY.
On Saturday 7 July 2007, to launch CRY’s awareness week, she will walk from Hampton Court (where she was born) to Tower Hill, some 35 miles, crossing Thames Bridges along the way, to raise awareness and funds for CRY.
At the end of CRY’s awareness week, on 15th July, she will walk from Westminster to Tower Hill (8 kilometres, 8 bridges) with CRY families and other supporters.
Commenting on these events, Kathryn Harries says:
"Like many of you, I've read about fit, young people dying without warning because of an undiagnosed heart condition. As a mother of two, I've barely dared to imagine the terrible grief of these youngsters' families. I didn’t realise there was something I could do.
Then I heard about CRY. This fantastically energetic charity aims to make screening for heart conditions part of every young person's life. Our children are our future.
So please join me as I walk to raise funds and awareness, or make a donation to CRY. Help me help CRY help our young. If you wish to take part, please complete an entry form which is available from the CRY website."
