Story

[WE DID IT!!! THANKS TO EVERYONE (colleagues at the UCL Institute of Archaeology, the Friends of the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Arrchaeology, and family, friends and many others) WHO SPONSORED AND OTHERWISE SUPPORTED ME. A SPECIAL THANKS TO MANTHA FOR BIKE #1 (until mile 12), JOHN FOR BIKE #2 (until mile 26), AND DOMINIC FOR BIKE #3 and JAN FOR THE BICYCLE PUMP (until mile 54)!]

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I am cycling for Academic Freedom 1 June 2008! Please PLEEEASE support me in this important event to assist refugee academics, especially our colleagues in Iraq.

Your generously donated pounds and pence will give me the motivation to cycle through the minutes and hours, up and down the hills and across those 54 miles (gasp! ) from Cambridge University to University College London's main quad.

Mantha Zarmakoupi (UCL) has very generously donated her speedy bicycle to the cause (as my own is in no condition!). Thanks Amantha - you're a star!

My thanks also to Kevin MacDonald and his family for their support!

Please do sponsor me now!  Together we can make a difference!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Council for Assisting Refugee Academics gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED SO FAR!!
