Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. In light of the amazing progress that has been made this year in civil equality, it seems as though, in America, you can do anything through hard work and dedication.
This is a luxury few people around the world can enjoy, and since the 1980's social and political instability in Afghanistan have created a generation of young people without any direction. To find a place in their unanchored society some of these young people turn to extremism as a "home". No one begins life wanting to die in a car bomb, or to kill innocent people. The children begging on the street in Afghanistan have the same hopes and aspirations as American children, but much less means to attain them.
Read this story about Banafsha, an 11 year old Afghani girl who begs to keep her family alive, yet still manages to dedicate a few hours of her precious time to learning. Aschiana makes this possible, but without help from the international community this life-giving organization may cease to operate.
Read the article. Donate. Help young Afganis help themselves and save their country.
Thank you,
Katie Marvin
Note: I am donating $25 every month. Since the website requires you quantify your donation in British Pounds, I reccomend you visit www.xe.com to make sure you are giving the dollar amount you intend.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends of Aschiana UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
