The VCMF is a fund I set up in memory of my dear mum who left a huge hole in all our lives on December 8th 2008 when she lost her short battle with cancer aged just 50. This page is to keep her memory alive whilst supporting others.

Story

Hi there,

Thank you for visiting my justgiving page, on October 8th I will be running in my first ever event when I tackle the 13.1 mile half marathon distance which makes up the Great Eastern Run.

I have chosen to help my friend and local fundraiser Luke Claxton who with the help of friends and family has managed to raise over a Quarter of a million pounds for charity since losing his mum Veronica in 2008. The latest mission of the Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund sees them aiming to raise £250,000 for CLIC Sargent a charity supporting children and young people with cancer in the U.K. All their current fundraising can be viewed at www.justgiving.com/teams/target250k and anything I can raise for my run will be going towards their overall total which already stands at around £170,000 in just 3 years!

I've been training really hard for this and anything you can give no matter how big or small will be so appreciated by the families and children CLIC Sargent support and also spur me on as I tackle what is a huge personal challenge for me.

Thanks very much for your time
