The real Katie Weston has been abducted by aliens, and in her place, a t-total exercise addict has appeared - much to the horror of most who know me, especially my husband, who now claims he is a running widow. I am thrilled to have got hold of a place for the London Marathon this April, and will again be running for the Leonard Cheshire Team with whom I ran the great north run in 2006. Change the way you see disability www.CreatureDiscomforts.org TheLondonmarathon will be a fantastic event in which to take part, and will be great training for The Comrades race next June www.comrades.com . This is a 56 mile race in South Africa. It is a tough challenge, but one which I am wholeheartedly dedicated to achieving. If anyone is keen to come out to support then please feel free - it will make a more exciting trip for supporters thanLondon! I would be enormously grateful for any sponsorship; your money will be going to a fantastic cause and is certainly a great motivator in encouraging me out running on these cold wet winter nights. If you can also brave the crowds to take part in the marathon support on Sunday 13th April, your cheering will be much appreciated by me and my running companions.
I can also promise a fun party after crossing the finish line to which you are all invited. I am now a very cheap date due to my virtually non existent drinking capacity - so the evening of the 13 April should be an amusing one; for all of you more than for me one would suspect! For those of my friends and family who support I can also promise a running free month from the 13 April - my training kit will be locked away in the hope that the old Katie Weston re-appears for some proper drinking and debauchery with those of you who have missed her!
