Sue Ryder Care Midnight Walks · 17 May 2008 ·

St Gemma's Hospice is a local, independent charity providing the best possible care and support for people in Leeds with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We support patients and their families, both in the Hospice and in the community, at any stage of their illness.

Story

Dear family, friends and colleagues

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

During the week my daughter finally started to sleep through the night, I, in a sleep deprived haze, signed up to do the Leeds Hospices Midnight Walk on May 17. It's a 13 mile circuit through north Leeds, although I prefer to think of it as half a marathon!

There were 2 reasons for doing this -

1. Because it would be great if my jeans would fit again without digging into my post pregnancy stomach and I doubt I'd be able to walk 13 miles without  a bit of practice.

2. Because my mum is fighting a brave fight against cancer at the moment and this walk will help to make me feel as if I'm 'doing something' at a time when it's hard to know what to do to help.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St. Gemma's Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support. I'll let you know how long it took me....
