Story

We're running the Manchester 10K Run on the 15th May to raise money for St Kentigern's Hospice in North Wales.

St Kentigern's has both an out-patient unit, and an in-patient unit with eight beds. When our Nain - Vivian Evans was diagnosed with cancer she attended the out-patient unit regularly. When she got really sick she was moved into one of the in-patient beds and was there for the last few days of her life. The hospice facilities and the staff in particular, provided the expert support that Nain and our family needed at that time.

It would be lovely if we could raise some of the money needed to pay for another individual and their family to have the same care.

St Kentigern relies on donations to keep running - receiving only 18.5% of the money it needs from the local health board and Welsh Assembly. St Kentigern costs £1.2 million a year - about £4000 a day.

Running doesn't come easy to me (easier to Neil with his long legs?), so please support me in the first time I've run in my adult life with sponsorship to St Kentigerns.

Thanks, Katy and Neil
