BUPA Great Manchester Run · 17 May 2009 ·

Every day, people living with terminal illness are given the choice to stay at home by Helen's Trust. By responding to the needs of individuals and their families we help people stay at home, bringing comfort and support at the end of their lives.

Story

On Sunday 17th May 2009, I shall be joining 33,000 other crazy people in Manchester to pound the streets in the Bupa Great Manchester 10k run.

Having never so much as run a bath before, many of you will know that one of my motives for entering this run was sheer vanity - I'm hoping that by getting fit, I won't look like an enormous meringue on my wedding day!

However, I also thought it would be a brilliant opportunity to raise some money for Helen's Trust, a Derbyshire-based charity which enables people with terminal illnesses to stay and receive care in their own homes.

So, a HUGE thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I know that times are tough right now and that everyone is feeling the pinch as a result of the credit crunch, but if you could spare me a little sponsorship I, along with the people at Helen's Trust, would be extremely grateful.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Helen's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please dig deep, and sponsor me now!

Thank you,

Katy xx

PS - If you stay tuned to BBC2 on the day, you may have the privilege of watching me get overtaken by someone dressed in a giant rhino suit, or Fizz off Coronation Street. Surely that is worth a fiver of anyone's money? x
