Story
Hi, My name is Katy and I've just completed the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
It was the most incredible experience of my life and seeing the sun rise from Machu Picchu was something I will never forget. The journey to get there was also pretty unforgettable; I began at 2,500 metres above sea level and, on the second day, I reached my first mountain summit (known as Dead Woman's Pass - with good reason!) at 4,200 metres. On the third day, I completed two further summits and ended with a descent down 3,000 steps. Altogether, I trekked 43km up, down and around mountains to reach the sacred site. I wouldn't have done it any other way, but it was certainly a challenge.
Arriving and knowing that I was also raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association was an amazing feeling. I still need to raise a bit more to reach my target, so please help me to do this. The MNDA does phenomenal work, both in terms of scientific research and practical support to help people with MND and their families. There is still time for you to donate and anything you can give to help this cause will be very gratefully recieved by this very tired but very happy Inca Trail trekker!
Thank you.
