Story
I entered a voluntary placement with Age Concern Cheshire last year. The placement is to raise money for the charity. This is done individually and as a team. The outcome of the placement will see me enduring a 10 day challenging trek (including travel) in Borneo. I am hoping to raise £3000! For me to do this i will be organising and running small events/fundraisers of my own and also events on a larger scale with the group i will be trekking with. The trek itinerary for 'Borneo Ultimate Challenge' can be seen at http://www.globaladv.org/Challenge_events.html . The multi-activity-challenge-trek takes place in the Sabah region of Borneo within Malaysia. The Challenge includes:
A two day trek to summit Mt Kinabalu (4,095m-the highest mountain in South East Asia). Then we will procede with a challenging 170km cycle ride over a two day period through Crocker Mountain range (known as the 'spine of sabah). The challenge finishes with a white-knuckle raft down the Padas river!
