The 4 of us are members of Kinross cycling club. On the 27th of August (2011) we will be riding for 2 charities and we will be splitting all monies raised equally. The charities are Male Cancer Awareness Campaign and Maggies centres, Scotland
MCAC aims to increase the awareness of detection and to educate in cancer symptoms, helping to build a culture where embarrassment does not prevent men from addressing problems with intimate parts of their bodies. http://www.malecancer.org/abouts
Maggies centres are based across the main cities in Scotland and provide the very best complement to medical care. Their effective combination of practical, emotional and psychological support is available to anyone affected by any type of cancer for as long as they need it. http://www.maggiescentres.org/about/introduction.html
We will cycle between each of the main Maggies centres -
Day 1 Glasgow to Edinburgh.
Day 2 Edinburgh to Dundee, via Kirkcaldy.
Day 3 Dundee to Aberdeen
Day 4 Aberdeen to Inverness.
A total distance of 300 miles
We will be wearing the eye catching Near Naked Man skin suits for MCAC. They are designed to promote awareness and reduce embarressment of male cancers. We are not embarrassed to wear them - You should not be embarrassed to either self check or talk about cancers.
These suits can not be bought - They must be earned through blood, sweat and sometimes, tears
