I will be walking to raise money for The Stars Appeal- Caring 4 Kids. My wife and I spent a significant amount of time in hospital with our youngest son Joseph. For a while it looked like his condition would be very serious indeed, but after several weeks we were able to leave hospital and over the following months he improved and has now fully recovered. The care he received in Salisbury (and incidentally in Southampton as well) was extraordinary and the facilities on the Children’s Ward made our stay so much easier. In very difficult circumstances, having a comfortable bed and such great facilities was amazing and entirely unexpected. While in hospital I met many parents whose children are suffering with terminal illnesses and many of them spend weeks and months in hospital dealing with emotional agony. Mine was the briefest glimpse at how these parents and children suffer and I saw first-hand what a difference this charity is making to people’s lives. I cannot thank them enough for the work they do and I am proud to be supporting them.
