Run for The Hills 2017 Challenges

Spartan Race 2017 - Marston Lodge · 2 September 2017 ·
In 2015, The Run for the Hills team lost a good friend Melissa Hills to cancer, at the time, a group of friends Jo House, Polly Forrester, Liz Millward, Claire Millward and Masha Shaverneva came together to raise money in her memory. That year we all tackled the Spartan Sprint. Every year we keep fundraising in her memory and again this year we are keeping this going.
On 3rd Sept, Jo House competed the first fundraising challenge by participating in the Spartan Sprint. The sprint consisted of 23 grueling obstacles over 5km. For those who saw the pictures from last time will understand the challenge.
On 17th September, Claire Millward will tackle the 3 Peaks Yorkshire Dales Challenge. The walk itself is a total of 24 miles and includes 5200 feet of ascent. The three peaks in question are Pen-y-Ghent, Ingelborough and Whernside and the aim is to complete in under 12 hours. Claire is taking part with her fellow colleagues at Blundells.
This year we are supporting Ovarian Cancer as our charity. Ovarian cancer accounts for 2% of all new cases in the UK (2014). In females in the UK, ovarian cancer is the sixth most common cancer, with around 7,400 cases diagnosed in 2014. More than half (53%) of ovarian cancer cases in the UK each year are diagnosed in females aged 65 and over (2012-2014).
We hope you will support us in these challenges. Let's fight cancer together.
