My story

Mad or Marvellous?  Well for those of you who know me, know that I like to get involved with things a bit different.  Or is it the wife looking to send me to an early grave?  Bungee jumping, microlight flights and skydiving are some of the things that I've done in the past.  However, these have all been for fun and I've never raised any money for a good cause.

So, on 23rd September, 6 of us are off on a 200 mile Hitchin to Hitchin cycle ride and I'm raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust in the lead up for their 'blue' day on 14th October 2011.

I've left it till the last moment as usual (no change there then).  Would love to raise £1000 and as an added incentive, if I do reach my target before I go then I will have my hair shaved off! (Can you hear Louise sobbing in the background?)

Every day in the UK, six teenagers are diagnosed with cancer. At Teenage Cancer Trust, we understand that cancer doesn’t stop these teenagers being teenagers. We know that young people have a much better chance if they are treated by teenage cancers experts, in an environment tailored to their needs. So we have created specialist units that aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Everything about them has been designed to give teenagers the very best chance of a positive outcome. And we want every young person with cancer in this country to have that chance.
