Please sponsor me in my fundraising challenge for PSDS
Last year I started running in 10k local and national events to raise money on behalf of smaller charities . Through my long family association with Helen Shiers, a founding Trustee of PSDS I discovered the very valuable and hard work that Helen and her fellow Trustees have contributed to the continued development of a charity called PSDS (which stands for “Providing Support for children with Down Syndrome and their families”). For many years there were extremely limited opportunities and support available for children with Down Syndrome and their families. With access to the wider network of support that now exists the outlook for a child with Down Syndrome today is very different to that of 20-30 years ago . However, for PSDS to continue to develop its network and increase the scope of its support further funding is vital. I have therefore decided to raise funds for this very worthy charity by running in the ASICS British 10k London run. I together with 26,000 other people ran in the event last year between us raising thousands of pounds for various charities. I completed the course in a time of 52.32 minutes and will be aiming to achieve under 49 minutes this year. So my sponsors will be getting a “run for their money” ! More information about the ASICS British 10kLondonrun is available on the official web site: www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk and more information about PSDS is available at www.psds.info
