Story

Hi.

I'm raising money for Help the Hero's charity in memory of Keith Alan Gray 4.3.72. Keith suddenly passed away aged 40 on 28th July 2012 and I want this page to be a celebration of his life.

I was married to Keith for many years and together we have a beautiful 11 year old daughter called Alex who adored her Dad and will miss him greatly. Anyone who knew Keith knew that he was a good man and meant no harm to anyone. Its hard to put in words the loss that we are feeling and its been especially hard to tell his daughter that her Dad has gone to heaven so I want this page to be in his memory.

Some of you will have known Keith during his police career and will have known how dedicated he was to the job. You would also have probably known him to be clumsy and if anything funny was ever going to happen it would happen to him. We called him our very own Mr. Bean as he could trip up just going upstairs!

During his time in the police Keith did many things to be remembered from when he chased a robber 3 miles with £300 worth of coins in his pocket and never stopped (he got a commendation for this) boy could he run...we gave him the nickname Forest Gum!

Towards the end of his career Keith did a very heroic thing whereby he tried to stop a person under the influenance of drugs plough down the Annerley Christmas Parade of Children and adults. Keith got mowed down in the process and the impact broke his back. Unfortunately this was really the beginning of life changing events 4 years ago. Keith was medically retired from the police force and found it very hard to come to terms with losing the job he had dreamed of doing since a child.

Keith has struggled with the changes over the last 4 years but always remained very focused on his duty as a Dad. There was nothing more rewarding than watching his daughter horse ride, singing and dancing, taking her swimming or bowling. We shared many family holidays and treasured funny moments that we won't ever forget.

Keith was very passionate about Help the Hero's as he felt that anyone who served in time of war, knowing that they may risk all is a hero. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life.

Rather than flowers at his cremation on Wednesday 8th August we are asking for you to dig deep into your pockets and donate to a very worthy cause in memory of Keith. Please pass this page onto EVERYONE who knew Keith and even if they didn't donate for my daughter's hero her dad Keith.
