Story

I made it.......     Well the fundraising part anyway.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated money and time in helping me smash my minimum target by over £2000. I would also like to thank those who have helped me with my kit for the trek.

All I have to do now is get on with the challenge itself.
There's only a few weeks left before we fly out to Kathmandu and begin our trek.

The highest place on earth. Adventurers the world over dream of conquering this mighty mountain and now I'm taking the once-in-a-lifetime chance to trek to Mount Everest and be part of a team hoping to raise over £150,000 for SCOPE.
This 16-day trek (20 days total), will take me through the Khumba region of Nepal to reach the base of Mt Everest. Then onto the summit of Kala Pattar (5,545m) for the classic view of Mt Everest itself and the Khumbu Icefall. I will be trekking in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and other famous explorers in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It's an area steeped in history, where the Sherpas farm amidst golden-roofed monasteries in the shadow of the world's highest mountains. The challenge involves hiking for up to 8 hours a day every day at high altitude where the air is very thin and temperatures get as low as -15c. I will be ascending about 9000 feet.

See you all when I get back.
