My personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Back in the Summer of 2005, I thought it would be a great idea to go camping in Frome.  Much to the disapproval of my gorgeous boyfriend Russ, we went ahead regardless.

First evening went very well, pitched our tent and had a very enjoyable BBQ.  The following morning didn't quite go to plan.  Breakfast was going to be a full English, instead it ended up being me!  I had a wee accident with the Primus Gaz canister and unfortunately it caught alight while I was still holding it.

As luck would have it, we were actually pitched next to 4 firefighters!  They put the fire out and with their quick thinking got me straight in the showers.  Paramedics arrived in a car first, then the ambulance but it was decided the best transport would be the Air Ambulance to Bath Hospital.

I was airlifted to Bath and within an hour of the initial accident I was being treated.

To the firefighters who were at the campsite, we are eternally grateful.  I would love to know who you are to thank you properly.  To the Air Ambulance I am truely thankful.  The speed in which I was dealt with and taken to medical care was essential to my recovery.  Burns continue to burn for another few hours if left.  I thankfully have no significant scarring and was back on my feet within 3 weeks.

The Aircraft used is leased from Bond Helicopters and costs in excess of £3500 per day to run, this money has to be raised largely from charitable donations from the counties of Dorset and Somerset and beyond.

I have put a fundraising target of £3500 for the day they helped me.  I will be running the Reading Half Marathon in March.  Please dig deep and sponsor me for these challenges.  Your money will help keep this service running, Air Ambulances saves lives.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
