Story
Hello Dear Friend-thank you for taking the time to visit my page!
I must be Mad!? (don't grace that with a comment!)
Once again I am taking to the road and making that famous journey from Newcastle to South Shields on September 20th 2009-the only thing standing in my way is 13.1miles.....last year it took me 2hours 37minutes, given my training and experience gained from last year my target is to be quicker than this-conditions on the day and the brain behaving!(things have been a little bit interesting!)
Why do it for Maggies?
I ran for them last year and found them extremely supportive-if they are like that for a fundraiser it proves exactly how supportive their centres are for those with cancer, their families and friends. I have family and friends who live with cancer, had the fight with it-some won the battle and sadly others didn't. My family are based in Nottingham and Maggie's are aiming to raise a staggering £3million pounds to build a special place where so many people can find the '"Joy of Living" . To read more about Maggie's Centre Nottingham please visit the website www.maggiescentres.org
Helping Hands-Getting to Goal!
To get this far has taken quite a bit of teamwork-from my supportive running buddies Kevin and Garth who have pounded the streets at least twice a week with me. There has also been huge support from the Running Club and gang from the Crown Spa Gym. I also need to acknowledge my epilepsy nurse who has continued to encourage me in my goal and worked to tweak my medication to keep me on target! These little things will help me hit that magical target.
You're Amazing!
It would be fantastic to know that you're supporting me every stride of the way on September 20th-you can do this by having a root about in your wallet and disturbing any lingering moths, handing over your spare change or even saving it between now and the race day or deciding not to have that extra pint and put the money to a great charity.
Thank You!!
To say Thank you for donating doesn't seem enough but it must be said!
Kelly
