My story
As my friends and family are aware my husband, David and I were faced with the hardest experience of our lives back in March of this year. I was 4 months pregnant and had to give birth to our baby to save my life! I developed HELLP syndrome (a variant of pre eclampsia) at just 16 weeks pregnant, I became seriously ill and my organs were failing, we were told that if I didn't give birth I would die. When giving birth the doctors then diagnosed me with a partial molar pregnancy on top of everything else, I had to go for a D&C to remove the rest of the placenta and have a blood transfusion. Due to the partial molar I am currently having 6 months minimum of follow up monitoring with a specialist hospital in Sheffield, which in some cases can lead to chemotherapy for some women. Since my physical recovery of HELLP I have been trying to raise awareness of the condition as so many people haven't heard of it let alone know the symptoms, I think it's so important pregnant women know of the condition and it's symptoms as it can be fatal for mother and baby if not caught and treated in time! I was lucky in that sense, I'm still here! So please donate as much or as little as you can to help TOMMY'S baby charity, to help other pregnant women, save lives and prevent the death of babies!
I am walking form Heysham port to Longlands hotel between Carnforth and Kirby Lonsdale on 11th August 2012, starting at 9am.
My best friends Amy and Emily Harlowe are joining me in the walk for their own charities- Parkinson's uk and Alzheimer's research uk, as they recently lost their lovely Grandad, Freddie to these conditions. Both girls were at his bedside for a week and sadly watched him die :-( so please support them too.

Me & David raised a massive £346 at today's carboot sale, had so much stuff & probably have enough to do another, maybe next month. Half of this amount I will be adding to my total on here tomorrow, the other half is going to 'Action on pre-eclampsia' on David's marathon page! xx

So...the training has started and I am getting as fit as a fiddle :-) finding it easier and easier each time I go for a walk, not bad for someone who is really unfit and drives everywhere :-/ Thank you all for your support :-) xxx
