Doing it for mummy! Sadly my mums story had to end...

This event follows my very successful Kellys Tea Party where we managed to raise £1770 for Macmillan. Many people will of heard or read about Sandra Ginnelly in the local Newark Advertiser back in July 2011. Mum ( Sandra) was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November 2010. This news devastated me, I heard cancer and straight away thought - how long do I have left with mum? We battled painful months of chemo and upset. Mum helped with Kellys Tea Party and strived to be there on the day, unfortunatly mum couldn't make it as she was too ill. But mum did see the pictures and recognised who it was as she gave us a little knowing smile. We held the tea party on 24th July and on 25th July mum was admitted to Beaumond House as she was struggling with her cancer. Beaumond House were fantastic at such a painful time. They made mum comfortable and she felt safe. We made the big beautiful house home for a week. Me and my big sister Bev have very fond memories of the place.

Mum sadly passed away on 29th July in Beaumond House. She passed away hearing us laugh and she would of been so happy that we were all there all together. We held her hand along with the nurses and she wasn't frightened in the end, she was at peace. Beaumond House made wonderful last memories for us and mum. Not only were they there for mum they were there for us, they made us smile, they looked after us. They are fantastic. We also take away some friendships from there which will last forever. Beaumond House you are a very wonderful place. I need to take this chance to raise money and to give something back as one day we may need them just like mum did.
