Once again I am running the London Marathon in aid of the St Elizabeth’s Centre. St Elizabeth’s is very close to my heart because my son Ben attended the school and now lives in the Residential Home. Last year I ran the London Marathon, and the money I raised was used to benefit Ben and his fellow residents in their house, by helping to purchase new furnishings, pictures and electrical goods – DVD player and wide screen TV.  I am running this year’s London Marathon to raise money for a major St Elizabeth’s project – the new Training, Therapy and Vocational Centre. The centre will house learning and vocational training areas, including a media suite, Centre wide radio station and social enterprise training cafe; sports, health and therapy elements including a large hydrotherapy pool.

On a personal level, the 2009 London Marathon will be my ninth marathon and my goal is to keep the pain to a minimum.
