Dear all, I have decided to get off my bar stool and trek up Mt Kilimanjaro! Why? Not just because ‘it’s there’ but because I am supporting a wonderful charity, Merlin (www.merlin.org.uk). When disaster strikes, Merlin's medical teams act fast to help people in some of the world's most challenging environments - in countries torn apart by war, and regions devastated by drought, flooding and earthquake. For example, Merlin was on the ground in Sri Lanka 48 hours after the tsunami struck, and are still there. I am now in training under the strict supervision of my wife Liz, who trekked to Base Camp at Everest 6 years back. I have already trekked about 180km in training. My doctor has pronounced me physically and mentally fit for the trek which may come as a bit of a surprise to many of you! The trek is from June 12-21st. Please sponsor me!! I am paying my own expenses for the trek so every penny that you donate will go directly to Merlin to support their great work. Thanks for your support!! Ken
