Hello, appreciate you taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I suppose recently turning 50years old, I was reflecting on life to date, and looking to the future and things I still wanted to do and achieve. And setting myself a challenge and raising money for a great cause was one of those things. Most of you know my love for Golf, and so decided on an endurance test of playing 100 holes in one day over Stirling Golf Club to raise funds for Macmillan cancer support in the Forth Valley. I’m raising the bar as I know I am knackered after 36holes – once a year- so plenty of training to do!! You may have heard of the Macmillan nurses, but the work Macmillan cancer support is wide and varied. Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. We can all help. Who gets cancer? Each year more than a quarter of a million people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK, and 1 in 3 people will develop cancer during their lifetimeLearn more…..http://www.macmillan.org.uk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrPSHmu-j-o
So,if your still with me…what will your donations buy,go towards? £17.50 could pay for one more member of a cancer support group to go on a social event with other support group members. £51 could buy a liquidiser for someone who can't eat solid food as a result of their cancer treatment. £350 could pay for a convalescent break for someone with cancer and their carer. £3,333 could keep a Macmillan cancer information and support centre stocked with all the information resources it needs to support people affected by cancer for a year.Big or small, your contribution will help people living with cancer, and the family and friends also affected. Without your support they couldn't provide any of thier services for people living with cancer.
All donations will go directly to help people living with cancer in the Forth Valley.
So, please, please make a donation. I’ll keep you posted on developments. Many thanks Jim Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
