As you will probably know we are running the Edinburgh Marathon on 31st May. This is Kerry's first (and maybe last!) Marathon and Mark's second.

As well as running for our own personal goals we would like to raise money to help children’s charity SAFE@LAST.

Your sponsorship and messages of support (equally important) mean a great deal to us, so a big thank you in advance!

SAFE@LAST works in South Yorkshire, North East Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire with children and young people who are at risk through running away.  Over 3600 children run away from home is South Yorkshire alone every year and are at risk, not only of what they are running away from, but also what they are running to.

 

SAFE@LAST provides services to keep children safe including preventative work to educate children about the risks and dangers of running away, a 24hour helpline, a Missing Person scheme run in partnership with South Yorkshire Police to offer ongoing support to children to prevent them running away again and an emergency refuge, the only one of its kind in the England outside of London.  SAFE@LAST receives very little statutory income and therefore is dependant on donations from people like you.

 

We know times are tough with the credit crunch but the current economic climate has a knock on effect for children and young people meaning SAFE@LAST’s services are even more in demand than ever.
