On Saturday 6th September I will be taking part in a tandem skydive along with a team from The Rose Road Association. This will involve throwing myself out of a plane at 10,000 feet whilst strapped to a nice, big (I hope!) instructor. I will then freefall at approx 120-130 miles an hour down to 5,000 feet where my parachute will be opened.
I have never jumped out of a plane. I have never wanted to jump out of a plane! My heart beats faster just thinking about it and you can be sure that at ten thousand feet I will have to be pushed out!
So why in a moment of madness did I agree to this? I never forget how lucky I am to have five healthy children, and (even if I have to risk my life in the process!) I’d love to help make life better for the youngsters at Rose Road who cope with all sorts of problems with such grace and bravery. So, please sponsor me.
The Rose Road Association supports children and young people from across Hampshire who have complex and multiple disabilities and who require a range of specialist care and equipment. Through the Change My Life Appeal they aim to raise £2,000 for each of the 150 young people who attend Rose Road – that’s £300,000 in total, a real challenge! This would then enable them to give our young people those special opportunities that they deserve, developing their key skills and having fun along the way!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rose Road Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thanks, Kerry x
