Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The challenge:  Nine brave (and possibly stupid) souls are embarking on a 40 mile walk (yes 40!) from Keswick to Barrow on Saturday 8th May.  The challenge is to complete the journey in just one day, with current estimates for start to finish at around 10-12 hours.  For more details on the challenge you can visit the official website at: http://www.keswick2barrow.co.uk/

Any reason?  Yes, a good one!  We are of course completing this challenge for charity and have selected The Baby Beat Appeal as our charity of choice.  The Baby Beat Appeal aims to maintain and raise standards in preventive care at the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit at Royal Preston Hospital.  Each of the 4,600 babies delivered in the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit deserves the best chance of life, and whilst its midwives and medical staff are experienced and dedicated they still need access to the latest technology.  The Baby Beat Appeal allows them to take advantage of the very best in foetal monitoring equipment, as well as invest in research, training, IT development and bereavement counselling.  It is a small, local charity to the team, that aims to raise just £100,000 a year, so any contribution we can make will be greatly welcomed.

The team:  Dave Burton, Harry Burton, Paul Minnis, James Kwong, Jenni Cowling, Rob Northwood, Vikki Jackson, Matt Farmer, Charles Cawthorn.

Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated, and on behalf of the whole team I'd like to thank you in advance for your contributions and good luck messages.
