The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Republic of Ireland this work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and Community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction. Alongside our work in the UK, The Salvation Army International Projects Office works with communities around the world to support and empower them to defeat poverty and injustice. Our development projects are created and implemented in partnership with communities to enable them to build a better life and future for themselves. Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

During the Easter holidays 2010 a group of young people (and some slightly older!) from The Salvation Army at Kettering will be travelling to Chikankata Mission, Zambia, to lend a helping hand to the people there and oversee some of the worthwhile projects that are going on there. The Mission houses a hospital, school and a community of around 3000 people.

Amongst the initiatives are the Orphans and Vulnerable Children's project, The Water and Sanitation project and mobile clinics. We will also be helping train young musicians at their music school and taking over a number of brass instruments to donate. To assist the good work there we would like to raise as much money as possible to leave at the complex.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Salvation Army gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now and then pass on to your friends!
All money raised will go towards the work of The Salvation Army at the Hospital and School and will not be used for any of our travel or other expenses.

Many thanks in anticipation
