Hi, Just like to say a big thank you to all that sponsored me, it's a worthy cause and Ben will benefit immensely. I finished the race with a personal best of 56mins 28 secs. Currently my total for the last 3 years stands at £1,830 - so I hang my running shoes up with pride and sore legs!! Kind Regards, Kev This is definately my last run, but I think I've saved the best till last - meet Ben, my cousin Bernie's lad: Ben is 7and has Cerebral Palsy Spastic Dipelgia. This basically means that Ben cannot walk independently, he uses various bits of equipment to help him: he has a wheelchair, a k-walker, and tripod sticks to help him get around, and mum and dad who carry him!! He also has various pieces of equipment at home to help aid his physio, leg gaitors, a standing frame, a wedge for stretches. Ben has a very strong character, he is very determined to achieve things, even when he has pain he will still continue to try his best. He has a great sense of humour! And always smiles to get through the day! Ben is starting "conductive education" which is another form of therapy, Ben will be attending "Rainbow House" based in Lancashire. Rainbow House can offer Ben the therapy that he needs, and also a social life with children of similar disabilities, Rainbow House offers horse riding, a farm for the children to help out on, a woodland area with pathways for wheelchair users, k-walker users and the more able bodied, so every child can access! They are currently raising funds for a hydrotherapy pool! This is a free service for parents, so any funds raised is a great way to say "Thank You!"
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RAINBOW HOUSE will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support. Kind Regards Kev
