Hi all I am not sure if you are all aware, but I will be taking part in the Paris Half Marathon at 10.00am on the 2nd March. What??? I here you say.!! Yes it is I The same Kevin Keane who would have maybe had a few beers and then fallen asleep at the drop of a hat after smoking his own weight in Marlboro lights. Yes I have become bored with the cigarettes and alcohol and gone, as I might have put it myself a while ago," To The Dark Side" I have started to use words like Training and fitness and "I really enjoyed that 5km run this morning". I find it just rolls off the tongue with the greatest of ease. I will be Running the marathon, for two charities, One is The Rowans Hospice in Hampshire who as some of you know was the hospice to look after my/our great friend Denzil in the last few weeks of his life. The other is Cancer Research. They say one in three of us will be affected in some way by this Horific illness, so its worth investing in. The Paris Half marathon is 21 km of gruelling terain and will be hard enough to run never mind having to navigate my way to the front, through all those french people, who as anyone who has driven a shopping trolly in a French supermarche can tell you is going to be a challenge all unto itself. So wish me luck. I am sure that you are looking back at the first part of this message and trying to recover from the shock of seeing my name and half marathon so close together. So, whlie you are in a dazed and confused state, quickly get you credit card out and make a donation. Just look at it as the cost of a round of drinks and go out half an hour later next Friday night. Thanks for your support Folks.. K.K
p.s If you would like to see what time I got and where I came out of the 23,000 people then you can go to the Paris half marathon official website. It will be up and running on the evening of the Marathon.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: The Rowans Hospice will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
