Flora London Marathon 2005 · 17 April 2005 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Dad often said "love's a funny thing? it makes a man a fool". Well here i am the fool!, i am embarking on the one race i allways said i wouldn't do. But due to our mum being taken ill, and therefore having to look after our dad (who suffers from Alzheimers) my sister and i finally realised what this awful illness had done to our dad.

Having to tend his every need,i realised this big strong/supportive/caring person that i knew to be Dad had dissappeared. For 38 years Dad was allways there for me and never did i think i would have to be there for him!! this illness has taken my Dad and i can't fix it.

So i have decided to run the marathon for Dad, i can't do to much to help him, but hopefully with a little help from my friends (and YOU)i can raise much needed funds that may help other loved ones from suffering the way we are.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
