The Association of Children's Hospices (ACH) covers over 40 voluntary sector children's hospices throughout the U.K., which includes CHASE at Christopher's just outside Guildford where Roxanne attends for respite care. ACH is the national voice representing not only the children's hospice services in the UK but through them the life-limited children and their families, like us, who use them. The service offered by these hospices is provided 365 days of the year, at no cost to the families.However, the cost to run each hospice runs into millions of pounds each year with little or no statutory funding available and with the majority of funding being raised by charitable donations. Children like Roxanne and families like us are supported by the dedicated staff at the hospice, the enthusiasm of the army of volunteers and the generosity of the public. This helps to ensure that they can continue to share the journey with all the children and families they support.
