Story

One night. One bonkers group of people. One haunted museum. All in aid of one charity... Children in Need.

With Children in Need looming, a group of office colleagues decided to embark upon a midnight adventure to raise funds for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The challenge, a midnight ghost hunt in Peterborough’s most notoriously haunted building, Peterborough museum. The aim, raise as much as possible for Children in Need by scaring ourselves senseless and seeking out what goes ‘bump in the night’.

The museum dates from 1816, despite being used originally for private living it was eventually sold on to become Peterborough’s first hospital and infirmary, until later becoming the War Memorial Hospital in 1928 and then onto the museum as we know it today.

Reports of paranormal activity are forever mounting in the museum. Visitors and workers alike have reported unexplained noises and sightings of figures flittering down the corridors. One of which has been described as a dark haired male wearing a grey suit believed to be WW1 ANZAC soldier Thomas Hunter, bought to England for specialised treatment he later died in the building on July 31, 1916.

On Friday 7th December, despite being armed with all this supernatural knowledge, we shall go ahead and hunt down these spooks that wander the corridors of the museum - brown underwear in’all. So please dig deep into those pockets and give whatever you can, it’s all in aid of a really good cause.

Believe us when we say this is not our ideal Friday night outing, but if your still not convinced maybe this might change your minds...
