Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Hi, I'm the nutter running round with a dryer on my back weighing 5 st 7 lbs! The reason for this? I am training for the Leicester Marathon on 11th October. Last year I ran with a bag of cement on my back but this year I wanted more of a challenge!
During my Army career of 16 years I completed numerous marathons. On leaving the army I have carried on with my love of running.
In January 2005 my daughter Libbie died aged 16 months from cot death. To try and do something positive in her memory my sister in law Julie convinced me to run the London Marathon 2006. Since then I haven't stopped raising money for various charities including Tommys Baby Charity, Loros and the closest to my heart ,FSIDS.
This year I am supporting Help for Heroes, having seen first hand the physical and mental long term problems serving your country can cause. I have seen the good and the very bad side of being a soldier.Let's not forget the families who have to pick up the pieces. Please support me in raising money for this worthwhile charity.
Also to everyone in Leicester please come out and support all the runners and their good causes. We really need you shouting your support at the roadside ....it means alot and spurs us on.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
