Kickz

“To create safer, stronger, more respectful communities

through the development of young people’s potential”.

Kickz is a new community based project that aims to engage with young people using local ball parks and facilities. The project works in partnership with the Football Foundation, the Football League, the Premier League and the Metropolitan Police to create a youth social inclusion project and was initially opened by Tony Blair.

Kickz provides children between the ages of 12 and 18 the opportunity to:

-          train with professional coaches

-          make friends and have fun

-          learn and develop new skills and abilities

-          get fit and healthy

All these opportunities take place in a safe environment.

Kickz currently run 3 sessions per week at Stockbridge Village. These sessions are run by the Liverpool FC community and Everton Foundation.

Currently, the Kickz participants are predominately male therefore it is necessary a wide range of sporting opportunities are made  available that may be more attractive to females, e.g. cheerleading.

Kickz 4 Girlz runs every Tuesday between 5-6pm @ Anfield Community Centre and a range of activities will be available. There will be 3 coaches present specializing in:

-          Football

-          Dance

-          Netball

In order to hire the venue each week for the girls project we are running a “WEAR IT BLUE DAY” on Friday 20th November 2009. We need as many people as possible to join us by ‘dressing to impress’ all in blue. It doesn’t matter if you do it at home, in the workplace, in school or even in a friendship circle. We are looking for as many people as possible to dress in blue and make a donation to the Kickz 4 Girls project.

Just remember..

For every £20 donated, an additional Kickz session happens

For every £20 donated, young girls are off the streets
