Story
Rachael Bonfield of Solution Factors and Stuart Townsend of Business to Business and Business MK have formed a fundraising cycling team, Kids at Heart, with Derek Bean and Glyn Goodship to take part in the Extra Mile Massif Challenge 2008.
On 26th September Kids at Heart will start the weekend charity event, a 500-mile relay cycle ride from Lens in the north of France, past Paris to the ancient volcanoes of Ventoux – in just 3 days!
Two-thirds of the sponsorship money goes to the charities selected by each individual team. The Kids at Heart team have selected Kids Out, a charity helping disadvantaged children up to the age of 18 throughout the UK, and the British Heart Foundation. One-third of the money raised by all 45 teams goes to the main charities selected by the Extra Mile Trust.
This year, the three main charities are:
– Ridgeway Special School, Kempston
– Milton Keynes YMCA
– ARCA (Brazilian Street Children’s Charity):
Details of our route can be found at http://www.extra-mile.org.uk, showing the extent of the challenge for the team cycling up to 180 miles each day, but we are prepared to put in the physical effort to raise the money. We would really appreciate your support and are grateful for any donations that you can give, to help us reach our target for these worthwhile causes.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Extra Mile Challenges gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
