Kidscan, the children's cancer research charity, is working to promote and support research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure of cancers in children. No other charity researches into specifically children’s cancers which makes their work both unique and vital.

Story

From June 18th-19th, over a period of 24 hours, I am going to be climbing Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Mount Snowdon in North Wales.

I will be doing this to raise money for KidsCan, a small Salford-based research charity that is working to develop new cures and improve existing ones for the cancers which particularly affect children, such as leukaemia and neural tumours, as well as develop better treatments for paediatric cancer which have less in the way of damaging side effects on a child's healthy body tissues (for more details on why paediatric cancer treatment is so much more dangerous than adult, and for more information about the charity, visit www.kidscan.org.uk).

This adventure is being organised by Student Adventures (www.studentadventures.co.uk) and there will be others participating, for various charities, from across the UK.

So far, my team includes Louise Anthony, who like me is a member of Cambridge RAG, the student fundraising society at the University of Cambridge.  She is also raising for KidsCan, and her JustGiving page is here: www.justgiving.com/Louise-Anthony1.  We also have, as drivers, Emma Cooper and Kirsty Potter, the RAG President and Secretary.
