I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for Kids Kidney Research. It wasn't until a friend who is very close to my heart had a beautiful baby boy named Oakley that I realised how important charities like this one are. Oakley was born with a rare form of polycysctic kidney disease. The disease can be fatal in children but Oakley is a fighter and now, 18 months on, the doctors have found a mixture of medicines to keep him stable. It is only though charities such as this one that this has been possible. So little is known about kidney disease, especially in children which is why I am raising money for a charity that contributes to continual research and, as a result, more knowledge and treatment.
