All the donations I receive will go straight to the charity 'Save the Children' which plays an active role in helping the poorest and most vulnerable children, and their familes access better education, healthcare and to become food secure.

‘Save the Children’ is the world’s independent children’s charity. They are outraged that millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection.

This summer I will be flying out to one of the poorest countries in the world, Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro which at 5895m above sea level is the tallest mountain in Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. I shall then spend the remainder of my stay in Tanzania helping with local community projects, funded by your donations which may range from building to teaching the children. 

I will be visiting and working in an area in Tanzania which ‘Save the Children’ have been in since 1986. Their work on the mainland was brought into focus by the Rwandan refugee crisis in 1994, when they helped run five refugee camps in the Karagwe district. Since 1996 they have maintained a solid programme in Tanzania, prioritising health, education and other social services.

One-third of the countries population is living below the national poverty line and its citizens suffer from poor health care, poor education and frequent severe food shortages. With your donations the lives of the people in these areas can be changed.
