Story
In October 2012, our intrepid group of adventurers will set out to climb the World’s highest freestanding mountain, and Africa’s highest peak. At 5895m Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak stands well and truly above everything else in Africa and is not only our destination at the end of our 7 day climb, but it is also where we plan to set the World Record for the highest kung-fu class ever completed.
Not only is the climb hugely challenging due to the altitude, terrain and arctic temperatures above 16400ft, but the threat of acute altitude sickness is a real threat and we have to ensure that our whole team is in great shape to complete the class and secure the World Record at the summit.
We hope that our challenge will inspire you to support us and in turn do something hugely meaningful for one of our local charities - Me Too & Co. Your support and words of encouragement will go a long way to inspiring us in our quest to conquer the mountain and our World Record challenge. Having completed some early stage altitude training so far, we all know this will be a huge challenge and we really need your words (and £’s!) of support to ensure we all make it..
