It is considered the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, with Uhuru Peak rising to an altitude of 15,100 feet (4,600 m) from base to summit, with an overall height of 5895m.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We are attempting this trek via the Lemosho route (same as Comic Relief Trek......if Chris Moyles can do it!!) over 7 days in February…..for fun!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Due to the scale of the challenge ahead of us, we think our pain is worthy of raising some money for a charity along the way.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>None of the donations will be used to part finance the trip, like a lot of these challenges – all monies raised will go to the charity.</span></p>

It raises money to give grants to disabled and disadvantaged children within the Northsound transmission area of North-east Scotland.</span></p>
